#EritreaAt30 - How Do We Achieve Liberation?
After fighting Africa's longest liberation war, Eritrea finally gained independence in 1991. Today the country is in a deep political and human rights crisis. Join us on the 30th anniversary of Eritrean independence for a discussion about the current situation and what we need to do to achieve Eritrean liberation. Our panelists include members of the Eritrean diaspora who have been involved in the movement for change in different ways, and will be using their experiences and expertise to help us explore this pressing question. Eritrean artists will conclude the event by showcasing how they celebrate and commemorate our culture as they also advocate for Eritrean human rights in the diaspora. This Natzinet, we want to honor independence day in a way that creates space for both our sorrow and our joy as Eritreans. Join us in commemorating the past, acknowledging the present and imagining a better future for our country.
